Seasons of Migration - from the Ocean to the moor
This 10 minute film highlights the beauty of Cornwall's iconic Fowey river and its ancient legend of Saint Neot. It traces the path of migrating salmon, through nature's four seasons, from the coastal estuary to the river's source on Bodmin Moor. Once bounteous, these fish are now facing extinction.
The profit from the film is donated to environmental organisations fighting this extinction (see below). By buying the film you show your appreciation for the film and you contribute to restoring our rivers and protecting migratory fish. If you buy the film you will also get a second Cornish film, Tidal Reach, for free.
"Seasons of Migration" also reminds us of an ancient, but forgotten, truth about the fragile beauty of nature and its sustainability and how a hermit living by the river became the worldwide Patron Saint of Fish. The St, Neot legend, the 'miracle of the three fish', was first recorded over 1,000 years ago and later memorialised in a stained glass window of the remote Cornish village's mediaeval church.
The film is enhanced by original music with field recordings made along the river banks and flowing piano and double bass improvisations.
The profit from the film is donated to the 'not for profit' Atlantic Salmon Trust and to the Fowey Rivers Association to help meet their costs of restoring and enhancing the natural environment of rivers and nurturing migratory fish.
